Hills Like White Elephants
I found this short story to be simple reading, although the story didn't have much of a solution in my opinion. I believe the conflict was wether or not the girl would get the procedure done and if it would help make her and her companion happy again. The male in the story made it seem as if the procedure was truley un complicated and to a point not a neccessity, but either way he'd be there for her. I like him for that. By the end of the story they both had, had a few beers but it didn't seem to have an affect on them or their debate.

Yes, but look more deeply/closely. Consider carefully the imagery in the story, and the contrasting image patterns, which we see primarily through Jigs' eyes. This will suggest a lot about the story's conflict--centered primarily on Jig.
